A Lesson To Remember

Well we are on the road again after a lovely breakfast with family.  In the van and ready to leave,  Alanna comes running out with a travel pillow and a blanket to match, and has me all wrapped up like I'm in a coccoon.  However, once the rain started all I could say was God Bless You Alanna! I took plenty of naps on that pillow in the dreary rain.

The rain has started.  The drive seems so monotonous. I think it's time for a nap! lol

Unfortunately, when the rain started so did my bladder.  It's bad enough to go to the restrooms in the garages along the route but to rush in the rain so I don't get too drenched and carring a steel air tank to boot was no easy feat. I'm beat!
Finally the Quebec Border

Driving along the St. Lawerence there was a break in the rain, this picture turned out quite nice I think, considering it was taken though the van window on the go.

However, all to soon the sun ended and the storm brewed bringing with it the torrential rains.  The driving got to hard to see so we stopped for the night in Pocaterie, Quebec.

By the way,  the food in the restaurant was phenomenal. However, the motel was a bit on the grungy side.

After the rain it left us this very beautiful rainbow!

"After the rain, God gives us rainbows. All things are difficult before they become easy!

............And We're Off...........

" So don't you sit upon the shoreline and say your satisfied,  choose to chance the rapids and dare to dance the tides." The River  written by Garth Brooks

We know we are heading to Toronto but just where in Toronto is still a mystery.  Upon receiving my call, to join the list for lung transplant, I have been burning the candle at both ends trying to locate a place for us to live. Most  places we preferred were either over our budget or too close to  downtown. Our dilemma is trying to find an apartment using only pictures on the internet.  For all we know the pictures could be 20 years old, which could mean it's a dive now.  We also have to find one in a decent neighborhood.  Certainly not an easy quest.  As of today we've had no final confirmation.  I guess you could say,  "We are winging it" This doesn't sit well with me, you see I'm all about plans, times and schedules. So winging it just doesn't fly!

It's now May 31, 2011 and our trusty old van is packed right to the rafters.

Ashtin and Mary Ann are all loaded in. For those of you who don't know Mary Ann she is a friend of Ashtin's who is getting a drive with us to stay with her brother in Toronto.

Alan's got his Tim's Coffee

and the bridge pass

And We're Off
We are going to take a small detour down to St. John to say our good-byes to the Wilkin's family ( Alan's sister Alana and her family). This was a great idea.  It seems so long since we've been here. Once upon a time when our kids were young we were over here once a month at least.

The kids are getting rowdy better get there soon.
.
At Alanna's
Well the short visit got extended to staying for supper, where we feasted on our niece Stephanie's Delicious Lasagna.  It certainly hit the spot because in all the chaos of packing this morning, I can't remember if I took the time to eat.
Alanna and Alan

While the others were out to the shop to have their after supper smoke, I'm in the windows taking pictures of them. I receive a call on my cell.  The lady was Eileen Powers the superintendent of 45 Wynford Heights Crescent and we have been accepted for apartment 602 beginning the first of June! Yahoo This apartment was second on the list of apartments. I'm elated now we have a destination to place into our G.P.S. and no longer have to worry about being homeless in Toronto. Now we can relax and take our time and spend the night with Alana and family!
